It has nearly 40g of active energy-boosting ingredients and 325mg of caffeine per 2-scoop serving.
However, like its caffeine-free counterpart, Pump Serum (which I also reviewed here), Wrecked might price itself out of budget for some pre-workout users as it comes at a premium cost.

Wrecked pre-workout, formulated by Huge Supplements is a high-potency product that has ingredients for every facet of fitness: strength, pump, power, energy, and mental focus.
Wrecked markets itself as the “Strongest Pre-Workout On The Market” and while a lot of companies like to make bold claims like these, Wrecked does actually come close to holding that top spot.
A full serving of Wrecked delivers 31g of total ingredients, with 325 mg of caffeine, 8g of citrulline, 4g of beta-alanine, 4g of glycerol, and 3g of betaine.
Despite advertising itself as a 40-serving product, in order to meet clinical dosing standards for the key ingredients mentioned above, you would have to take 2 scoops. This drops the total servings down to 20 and raises the cost to $2.50 per serving.
Wrecked uses a variety of stimulant and mental focus-boosting ingredients including two sources of caffeine (caffeine anhydrous and di-caffeine malate), alpha-GPC, Lion’s Mane, Eria Jarensis, Theobromine, and Yohimbine (more on what these ingredients do below).
This high volume of stimulants means that this pre-workout is best reserved for people who have experience taking pre-workout, and you should avoid taking it within 5 hours of bedtime.
To assess your tolerance, it’s recommended to start with a half-scoop to single scoop serving before moving up to the full 2-scoop dose.
Wrecked also contains ingredients for pump, endurance, and strength including citrulline, beta-alanine, betaine, and glycerol.

Claims vs Reality: How I Felt After Taking Wrecked?
I was a bit apprehensive to try this pre-workout as there are a lot of stimulants in this product.
When taking the full serving (2-scoops), I had to spend the first portion of my workout in the bathroom. This hit me approximately 30 minutes after taking the pre-workout.
While unpleasant, the stomach discomfort subsided quickly and I experienced no nausea or stomach upset for the rest of my workout.
My guess is that these gastrointestinal side effects are a result of the high amounts of caffeine and stimulants in the product, which can stimulate the colon and increase the urge to go to the bathroom.
For me, I’m just not used to taking that much caffeine in a single sitting. If you have a higher caffeine tolerance, your experience might be different.
- Update: I just finished testing Gorilla Mode Pre-Workout (click to read my review) and got the same sickness I experienced with Wrecked. When I looked at the ingredients, I noticed that it also contained Eria Jarensis, which I now believe is something I’m very sensitive to and the reason I got sick using Wrecked. You may or may not feel the same way. You can learn more about Eria Jarensis in the ingredient section below.
Despite having a full 4g of beta-alanine (per 2 scoops), I didn’t find the tingling sensation to be excessive with this pre-workout (skin tingling is common with clinical doses of beta-alanine).
Although, that could be due in part because I have been testing pre-workouts for several months now and have become accustomed to beta-alanine making its effects less pronounced.
One thing that I really noticed with this pre-workout that I haven’t experienced with others was a significant mood-boosting/euphoric effect. This effect lasted not only for my morning workout but well into the afternoon and evening.
This was also the most prolonged energy I have felt from a pre-workout supplement.
I took this pre-workout at around 8am and didn’t consume any stimulants throughout the rest of the day. This is abnormal for me, I almost always reach for a coffee or fat burner around 2pm.
I also felt like I was able to problem-solve, manage stress, and multi-task more efficiently throughout the day.
This is likely attributed to two factors:
- Wrecked has a variety of stimulants that will increase energy, neurotransmitter function, and hormone function that positively affect mood
- Wrecked allowed me to get a really great workout that would have provided me with an endorphin boost that carried throughout the day.
Overall, if it falls within your budget and you are looking to experience one of the strongest FDA-approved pre-workouts on the market, I definitely recommend trying Wrecked by Huge Supplements.

L-Citrulline
Citrulline is an amino acid that can increase nitric oxide levels in the body. Nitric oxide helps the body to dilate and constrict blood vessels.
The key benefits associated with increased nitric oxide levels include improved blood flow to the muscles and heart.
Where exercise is concerned, taking citrulline pre-workout may help delay fatigue, increase strength and endurance, and enhance recovery.
While more research is needed, the currently accepted optimal dose of citrulline is 6-8g, taken approximately 1 hour prior to exercise.
One scoop of Wrecked contains 4g of citrulline, meaning you fall short of clinical dose standards with just a single scoop, but do hit a clinical dose with a 2-scoop serving.
Glycerol
Glycerol is a compound that can increase the total volume of water in the body. It can also create glucose under fasted conditions and can contribute to a significant amount of energy used during your workout.
Glycerol is most commonly sought after by pre-workout users for its ability to create a good muscle pump, you might also experience improved performance and better recovery.
A dose of 0.125g/kg of bodyweight is found to be sufficient for day-to-day exercise. This works out to roughly 10g of glycerol for a 175lb individual.
The dose of glycerol used in clinical trials is much higher than the amount found in pre-workouts like Wrecked, which offers 2g of glycerol per scoop.
While Wrecked technically falls below clinical dose standards, even with a 2-scoop serving, the dose found in Wrecked is very typical of pre-workout supplements and should at least provide a moderate muscle pump.
Beta-Alanine
Beta-alanine is an amino acid that plays a key role in creatine carnosine in the body, a molecule that is highly concentrated in the brain and muscles.
Carnosine acts as a buffer in the body, buffering the hydrogen ions that build up in the muscles and cause fatigue.
As a result of supplementing with beta-alanine, you will experience delayed fatigue allowing you to train harder for longer.
Optimal beta-alanine dosing is 3-6g daily over the long term (at least 4 weeks).
A single scoop of Wrecked offers 1.75g of beta-alanine, falling shy of clinical dose standards on its own. A 2-scoop serving provides 3.5g of beta-alanine and would meet clinical dose standards.
Betaine Anhydrous
Betaine is a compound that is found naturally in spinach, beets, and whole grains.
It helps with liver function and helps to make carnitine, a substance that plays a role in converting fat to energy.
Theoretically, supplementing with betaine might improve strength and power output and shows a lot of promise in improving body composition (by reducing fat mass and increasing lean mass).
Like beta-alanine, betaine should be taken daily for several weeks in order to see its full benefit. A dose of 2.5g daily seems to be effective.
Wrecked falls short of a clinical dose when taking a single scoop (which has 1.5 of betaine) but meets clinical dosing standards with a 2-scoop serving (providing 3g).
Malic Acid
Malic acid is a specific type of acid (an alpha hydroxy acid) that is found naturally in certain fruits and wines.
Evidence shows that it can improve muscle endurance and stamina, though its most common uses are in the treatment of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.
There is not a definitive clinical dose established for malic acid, but a dose of 500mg of malic acid daily is common.
Wrecked does not have magnesium, but delivers 1500mg of malic acid per scoop, definitely enough to contribute to increased endurance and enhanced stamina.
Agmatine Sulfate
Agmatine is made from the amino acid arginine, which plays a role in regulating vascular function and blood flow.
While agmatine can increase nitric oxide production slightly, it also functions as a neurotransmitter in the brain.
Furthermore, agmatine can stimulate the release of Luteinizing Hormone, which may result in increased testosterone levels and muscle growth.
To date, most of the research has been done on rats and there is limited evidence to support agmatine supplementation in humans.
The current estimated dose of agmatine is 1.6-6.4 mg/kg of body weight. For a 175lb individual, this works out to be between 125 and 500mg.
With 750mg per scoop, Wrecked far exceeds the clinical dose standards.
L-Tyrosine
Tyrosine is an amino acid that is made in the body from another amino acid called phenylalanine.
Tyrosine is a precursor to dopamine and norepinephrine and may be able to boost cognitive function after just one single dose.
Supplementing with tyrosine before exercise can increase the total time to fatigue, meaning you can work out for longer periods before feeling exhausted.
Despite these claims and a lot of anecdotal support from sport supplement researchers, there is not much scientific support for smaller doses of l-tyrosine (500mg – 2000 mg) taken pre-workout.
Most of the research done showing L-tyrosine to be beneficial has used doses of 100-150mg per kg of body weight, which translates to roughly 7-10g for a 150lb individual.
Wrecked has 750mg of tyrosine per scoop (1500 mg for a 2-scoop serving) which is well below what has been used in clinical studies, but is a typical dose found across other pre-workouts.
The dose of tyrosine found in Wrecked is likely to support the caffeine and other stimulants to promote energy and mental focus.
Alpha GPC
Alpha GPC is a form of choline that is a precursor to the neurotransmitter, acetylcholine. Research has linked acetylcholine to improved memory and muscle contractions.
By supplementing with Alpha-GPC, you can create more acetylcholine, therefore, improving brain power and muscle function.
Alpha-GPC has been predominantly studied in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, but early research indicates that Alpha-GPC has the potential to improve upper and lower body power.
For improving exercise performance, it’s recommended to take 300-600mg of Alpha-GPC 30-60 minutes prior to exercise. With 300mg per scoop, Wrecked hits the clinical dose standard.
Lion’s Mane
Lion’s mane is a mushroom native to North America, Europe, and Asia. It has long been used in traditional Eastern medicine and has started to make its way into Western health and fitness culture.
Lion’s Mane is rich in compounds that can provide a number of benefits to the body. For one, it is high in beta-glucans which are good for heart health and brain function.
Lion’s mane is also rich in compounds that support reduced inflammation, reduced fatigue, increased cognitive function, and immune health.
There are not many clinical trials looking at Lion’s Mane on its own in regards to increasing exercise performance, so a clinical dose has not yet been established.
With 300mg per scoop, the amount of Lion’s Mane in Wrecked is much lower than the amount used in clinical trials so far (which is around 3000mg), but will still support exercise performance and recovery by reducing inflammation and increasing energy.
Caffeine Anhydrous
Caffeine is a compound that is found naturally in over 60 plants including tea and coffee beans.
Caffeine anhydrous specifically is created from the seeds and leaves of coffee plants, where the caffeine is extracted and dehydrated resulting in a product that is highly concentrated.
Caffeine is a stimulant that speeds up the central nervous system and can increase alertness and mood. Taking caffeine before exercise can increase cardiovascular output, muscular endurance, strength, and power.
Caffeine, especially in a concentrated form like caffeine anhydrous, can come with side effects like anxiety, jitteriness, heart palpitations, or insomnia.
The FDA recommends a safe upper limit of 400mg of caffeine per day. Since Wrecked contains 325 total milligrams of caffeine (200 from anhydrous) if you do the full two-scoop serving, it is recommended to start with a half scoop or one single scoop to assess your personal tolerance.
N,N-Phenetyl Dimethylamine (Eria Jarensis)
N,N-Phenetyl Dimethylamine is the chemical name for a stimulant that comes from the plant, Eria Jarensis.
This alkaloid has an aroma that is “sweet” or “fishy”, and is used in a variety of food products including cereal, cheese, fish, and meat.
It is said to have mild stimulant properties that can increase levels of dopamine and support mental focus and concentration.
Clinical doses for Eria Jarensis have not been established, but it is sold by suppliers in a 75mg to 150mg dose.
Wrecked offers 125mg per scoop, falling well within the range of what is typically sold. This amount is likely to contribute to increased energy.
Theobromine
Theobromine is a stimulant similar to caffeine that is found in kola nuts, tea leaves, and chocolate.
Theobromine offers longer-lasting, calmer energy without the energy spike and subsequent energy crash that can happen with other forms of caffeine.
As is the same with other stimulants, taking theobromine before exercise may increase cardiovascular function, strength, and cognitive function.
There is not a clinically established dose of theobromine to take before exercise. Wrecked has 75mg of theobromine per scoop, which is likely a sufficient dose to support the other stimulants found in the pre-workout.
Di-Caffeine Malate
Di-caffeine malate is a form of caffeine that has been combined with Malic Acid (discussed above).
The theory behind combining caffeine with malic acid is that the combination results in a slower release of caffeine.
The reason for having two different caffeine sources in Wrecked, one that absorbs quickly (caffeine anhydrous) as well as one that absorbs more slowly (di-caffeine malate) is that you can get more prolonged energy without the crash effect that can be commonly associated with pre-workouts.
Rauwolscine (Yohimbine)
Yohimbe is a tree native to South Africa from which we get the chemical, yohimbine.
Yohimbine targets specific receptors in the body that are responsive to norepinephrine. This action allows norepinephrine levels to increase in the body, which can result in elevated mood and increased energy.
Potential negative side effects of yohimbine include irregular heart, elevated heart rate, anxiety or elevated blood pressure.
While there is no clinically accepted dose of yohimbine, the recommended dose is ≤0.2 mg per kg of body weight. For a 175 lb person, this equals roughly 16mg.
Wrecked has a modest dose of yohimbine, with a dose of 500 mcg per scoop (or 1mg per 2 scoop serving). This is a wise decision on the company’s part.
There are 5 total sources of stimulants in Wrecked. Since higher doses of yohimbine have an increased risk of negative side effects, the small dose in Wrecked will supply a moderate energy boost while minimizing the chance of negative side effects.
Note: Yohimbine is banned in certain countries (Canada, Australia, UK, but not in the US).
Black Pepper Extract
Black pepper extract is added to pre-workouts for its ability to increase the absorption of other ingredients.
In clinical trials, black pepper extract was found to increase nutrient absorption by up to 30%.
The clinical dose for black pepper extract for increasing nutrient absorption is 5-10mg. With 5mg per scoop, Wrecked meets clinical dosing standards.
Highlights: What I Like About Wrecked
Excellent Taste
Wrecked has an excellent, strong flavor without a bitter aftertaste that sometimes comes from clinically dosed pre-workouts.
I did find the taste quite sour when mixed with the recommended amount of water, but that can be easily remedied by diluting the product with a little bit extra water if sour flavors aren’t your thing.
Long Lasting Energy
Wrecked markets itself as the strongest pre-workout on the market, and it absolutely delivers substantial, long-lasting energy without any jitters or anxiety.
While this was my personal opinion, because it is high in stimulants you might find it affects you differently, especially if you are sensitive to caffeine.
No Crash
Despite the high amount of stimulants and caffeine in Wrecked, the product provides caffeine sources with different release rates. The end result is very prolonged energy with no crash afterward.
I was pleasantly surprised that this product didn’t cause a crash. They achieve this by using a variety of stimulants in their formula that have different release times.
For instance, caffeine anhydrous tends to hit the system rather quickly, as little as 15 minutes after ingestion.
Theobromine, on the other hand, peaks after about 2-3 hours after ingestion.
Drawbacks: What I Did Not Like About Wrecked
Slightly gritty texture
Despite its good taste, Wrecked pre-workout does not dissolve entirely and has a slightly gritty texture.
The gritty texture was noticeable, but not bad enough to deter me from wanting to drink the pre-workout.
I found that if I kept swirling my cup around, I was able to drink most of the pre-workout with minimal residue left at the bottom of the cup.
Upset stomach
I found that Wrecked pre-workout caused some gastrointestinal upset, and every time I took a 2-scoop serving I had to delay my workout or interrupt my workout to go to the bathroom.
While this was inconvenient, the effects were pretty short lasting and I was able to resume my workout with no lasting side effects.
While I’m used to drinking a lot of coffee, I’m just not used to ingesting that much caffeine in a single serving, so that’s likely why I had to go to the bathroom.
Personally, I found this a lot better to deal with than my experience with Kaged Elite (click to read my review), which left me feeling nauseous for up to an hour after ingestion.
Potential for serious side effects
It can’t be ignored that one of the stimulants used in Wrecked, Yohimbe, has been banned in some countries, including Canada, Australia, and the UK. Possible side effects of yohimbine range from gastrointestinal upset and increased heart rate to heart attack and seizures.
The more serious side effects have been attributed to products that contained a blend of ingredients, not just Yohimbe, which makes it difficult to pinpoint whether Yohimbe alone was the cause of the side effects.
Even still, it’s important to note that some countries have deemed the potential side effects of Yohimbe dangerous enough to ban it from being sold.

If you want clinical doses of its ingredients, you have to take a 2-scoop serving, which doubles the cost to $2.50 per serving.
At $2.50 per scoop, Wrecked is well above the market average of $1.61 per serving.
The cost can be justified since a 2-scoop serving of Wrecked offers nearly 40g of ingredients, which is much higher than other pre-workouts like C4 Original that cost much less, but has a full serving size of only 6.5g.
Whether justified or not, $2.50 per serving may be out of reach for customers with a restrictive supplement budget.
Taste
Our rating: 4/5
Wrecked has a good, strong taste with no bitter aftertaste. (I tried the peach rings flavor specifically). It may be too sour for some users.
If you want to avoid sour flavors, I would recommend trying the Rainbow Burst or Blue Razz flavors, which are most likely to have a sweeter taste.
If you want to lean into the sour taste, then opt for Peach Rings, Sour Gummy, or Raspberry Mojito.
Mixability
Our rating: 3/5
Wrecked does not dissolve completely and leaves a slightly gritty texture. The product tends to settle on the bottom if left sitting for too long.
As I mentioned, if I was conscious about swirling my pre-workout in the shaker cup as I drank it, there was not a significant amount of residue left on the bottom.
This was better than my experience with Huge Supplements’ other pre-workout, Pump Serum, which mixed up terribly and left a significant amount of residue on the bottom.
This was worse, however, than many of the other clinically-dosed pre-workouts I tried like Legion Pulse, which mixed up with a clean, juice-like texture.
Energy

With 5 different stimulants providing immediate and prolonged energy, it definitely delivers on that front.
Wrecked contains 325 total mg of caffeine from two different sources: caffeine anhydrous and di-caffeine malate.
Caffeine also uses a blend of lion’s mane, alpha-GPC, eria jarensis, theobromine, and Yohimbe to deliver an energy that is long-lasting and mood-boosting, without jitteriness, anxiety, or a crash afterwards.

Wrecked contains several ingredients that help to elicit a muscle pump, including citrulline, glycerol, and agmatine.
In order to reach clinical doses of each of the ingredients mentioned above and guarantee a good pump, you would have to take a 2-scoop serving.
You may still notice a moderate pump with a single scoop serving, since the three ingredients will work well together but if you are after a significant pump, I still recommend a 2 scoop serving.

What Are Other Customers Saying About Wrecked?
On the Huge Supplements website, Wrecked has a 4.7/5 star rating based on over 4000 reviews, which is a respectable sample size.
Customers online praise every aspect of Wrecked, from the great mental focus to the pump and prolonged energy. Many users were so impressed by their experience with it that they excitedly exclaimed in their reviews that they were ordering more immediately.
To get a clear picture, I made sure to browse the 1 and 2-star reviews. Many of them were issues not related to the actual product, like their pre-workout never arriving or the product arriving clumpy.
For reference, the powder is not as finely ground as some other pre-workouts and I could see how this could be perceived as clumpy. I was not sure if the customers were referring to the characteristics of the powder, or if their product actually arrived defective.
Aside from taste, I was hard-pressed to find any negative reviews about customers’ experience with the product.
Wrecked had a much lower rating on Amazon, with a 3.9/5 star rating. This is actually one of the lowest ratings I have seen on Amazon for pre-workout – most are in the low to mid 4s.
Customers on Amazon are much less satisfied with the taste, which is one of the most common complaints.
There were a few customers who complained that this product “gave me no energy, pumps, or endurance”. While everyone is bound to react differently to each product, my honest opinion is that if you take a product with 325mg of caffeine and experience no energy boost, then it’s probably time to cycle off of pre-workout and stimulants in general for a few weeks.
Wrecked Alternatives?
Transparent Labs Bulk
If you want a pre-workout that offers similar amounts of the pump and strength-based ingredients, but comes at a slightly lower cost per serving then Transparent Labs Bulk is a great alternative.
It costs around $1.66 per serving, almost $1.00 less than Wrecked.
With a single scoop serving, Bulk meets clinical dosing standards for citrulline, beta-alanine, betaine, tyrosine, and alpha-GPC.
The biggest difference between Bulk and Wrecked is that Bulk only has 200mg of caffeine per full serving, compared to the 325mg found in Wrecked.
I found my workout experience to be similar in both, getting good strength and energy with no jitteriness or crash. The euphoria and mood-boosting effects were definitely more noticeable in Wrecked, though.

Pump Serum
Pump Serum is another pre-workout offered by Huge Supplements.
This formula is for people who prioritize muscle pump over every other aspect of pre-workout.
Pump Serum is a caffeine-free formula, which makes it a good option for people who want the highest-dosed pump product but work out late in the evening or are sensitive to stimulants.
Similar to Wrecked, Pump Serum meets clinical dose standards for citrulline, betaine, and agmatine.
