20 Low-Calorie Dutch Bros Drinks, Ranked By Nutritionist (2024)

Reviewed By :

Many Dutch Bro’s drinks contain extra flavors, syrups, and creams, which can have 500+ calories.

“While a high-calorie coffee is occasionally okay, consuming this many liquid calories is not always ideal if you want to lose weight,” says Amanda Parker, our in-house nutritionist at FeastGood.com.

Luckily, plenty of low-calorie drinks at Dutch Bros can be further reduced in calories by making simple customizations and ingredient swaps to your order.

What Is Considered A Low-Calorie Drink At Dutch Bros?

“A low-calorie drink at Dutch Bros contains fewer than 200 calories,” says Parker.

With that said, some people have more of a calorie budget to play with.

So, I’ve also included a few drinks that are between 200 and 300 calories.

Lowest Calorie Drinks At Dutch Bros

1. Plain Americano (10 calories)

Ingredients: Espresso shots of the Dutch Bros Private Reserve coffee blend with mild notes of cocoa

The Plain Americano is the lowest-calorie drink on the Dutch Bros menu.

It contains between 10 and 20 calories when consumed without any extras. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a caffeine ‘pick me up’ but don’t want anything too fancy.

You can drink this with no milk to keep the calories as low as possible.

However, if you’re not a fan of plain black coffee, ask for it with almond or coconut milk to add flavor while keeping the calories to a minimum.

2. Toasted or Iced Cold Brew (20 calories)

Another very low calorie drink on the menu is the cold brew coffee. Unlike other drinks at Dutch Bros, the calories in the cold brew remain the same whether you decide to order it iced or toasted.

The cold brew at Dutch Bros is only offered in a Medium size. The Nitro Infused Cold Brew is also offered in Medium and comes in at 20 calories.

You can enjoy this low-calorie beverage while also customizing the flavor by adding one of the many sugar-free syrups that Dutch Bros offers.

A small amount of almond milk (20 calories per ½ cup) will add a bit of creaminess to the cold brew for minimal calories.

Whether drank hot or cold, the Passion Fruit Tea is a delightful blend of green or black tea and passion fruit syrup.

The small size is ideal if you want a low-calorie drink but you also want to satisfy a sweet tooth.

If you choose this drink hot, you can have the small, medium or large for 80 calories. However, the iced version has a higher number of calories in the medium and large portion.

To cut down on the calories and sugar which make up the majority of this beverage, you could ask for your tea to be “half sweet”, where only half of the passion fruit syrup serving is added.

You can enjoy this beverage hot in any size, or cold in a small size for a low-calorie drink.

Like the Passion Fruit Tea, asking for this drink to be “half sweet” will cut down on the carb and sugar content. Another alternative is ordering this drink with sugar-free syrup, since Dutch Bros carries the strawberry syrup in a sugar-free version.

With a stunning bright-blue color, the Tropical Iced Tea is a great choice if you’re looking for a sweet and fruity beverage that isn’t too high in calories. It has a sweet and flavorsome blend of tea, passion fruit syrup, coconut syrup, and blue raspberry syrup.

There is a small 10-calorie difference in the small size if you choose iced over hot, but this still qualifies as a low-calorie beverage.

However, similar to the other teas it is high in sugar, with up to 64 grams of sugar in a large. To reduce the total sugar content, consider opting for the sugar free coconut syrup that Dutch Bros offers.

Ordering this drink without one of the syrups will remove about 40 calories.

Alternatively, each of the syrups in the RainBro Tea are offered in sugar free versions at Dutch Bros, so ordering the entire drink with sugar free syrups will bring it down to virtually zero calories.

Choosing the small iced Tiger’s Blood Lemonade over the blended will save you about 150 calories.

This drink contains no coffee or tea so it’s a great option if you’re not keen on highly-caffeinated drinks but you still enjoy something sweet.

If you want to save calories, you can opt for either the sugar-free strawberry and sugar-free coconut syrup.

10. Toasted White Mocha Cold Brew (180 Calories)

You can enjoy this drink in any size and still be under 200 calories. However, the iced version of this drink contains almost 100 extra calories.

To reduce the calories in this drink, you could skip the white chocolate sauce and opt for the sugar-free white chocolate syrup instead. This will reduce the sugar while maintaining the white chocolate flavor in the drink.

You could also switch out the chocolate milk for a lower-calorie plant-based milk, however, this will likely change the flavor of the drink quite a bit.

Like all the lemonades at Dutch Bros, iced (not blended) is the best option if you want a lower-calorie drink, saving you 150 calories.

You can save additional calories by choosing the sugar free strawberry syrup. Unfortunately, there is no sugar free pineapple syrup, but you could ask for half the amount of pineapple syrup to save on calories.

Tips For Ordering Low-Calorie Drinks At Dutch Bros

tips for ordering low-calorie drinks at dutch bros

Stick to Plain Coffees or Iced Teas

The plain coffees, cold brews, and iced teas at Dutch Bros are the lowest calorie options, containing fewer than 200 calories.

This is compared to many other drinks that contain 500+ calories.

By sticking to these drinks, you can keep your calories to a minimum.

They may not be the fanciest drinks at Dutch Bros but they will help you to stay within your daily calorie target.

Ask For Your Drink Without Any Syrup or Sauce

Although the syrups at Dutch Bros contain just an average of 38 calories per tablespoon, every little helps when you’re watching your calorie intake.

You can save these extra calories by asking for your drink without any syrup.

Alternatively, you can order your drink ‘half sweet’ (with half the amount of syrup). This will help maintain your drink’s delicious, sweet flavor without the added calories and sugar.

Similarly, some Dutch Bros drinks have sauces (instead of syrups), which contain significantly more calories (approximately 130 calories per tablespoon and 15 grams of sugar).

So, make sure you know whether drinks have syrups or sauces because there are caloric differences between them.

Swap For A Sugar-Free Syrup

Dutch Bros offers sugar-free syrups of various flavors, including chocolate, caramel, vanilla, chocolate macadamia nut, hazelnut, Irish cream, peppermint (seasonal), coconut, raspberry, peach, and strawberry.

So if you want to customize your drinks, opt for one of these sugar-free flavors.

Take the Whipping Cream Off

Whipping cream contains around 45 calories and 4.5 grams of fat per tablespoon.

Many Dutch Bros drinks contain at least one tablespoon of whipping cream. Taking the whipping cream off your drink can save you at least 45-90 calories.

Order A “Skinny Drink”

A few different drinks on the Dutch Bros menu can be made sugar-free (or ‘skinny’).

The sugar-free drinks might not necessarily have fewer calories, but choosing one of these options can help to lower your total sugar intake.

The drinks offered in a sugar-free option are: Kicker, 911, Annihilator, Caramelizer, Cocomo, White Mocha, Double Chocolate Mocha, Double Torture.

Consider A Different Type of Milk

Dutch Bros offers alternative milk options in most of their drinks. They offer soy, oat, almond, and coconut milk, which are plant-based and lower in calories than cow’s milk.

More specifically, there are 148 calories in a cup of whole milk, compared to 131 calories in soy milk and 40 calories each in a cup of almond and coconut milk.

You also have the option to swap out half and half or chocolate milk for a lower calorie option such as non-fat milk and 2% milk.

Therefore, you can save up to 108 calories per cup by choosing an alternative milk option.
